Frequently Asked Questions

Can it test both freshwater and saltwater aquariums?

Yes, the SynuDrop Water Quality Monitor measures Salinity and Specific Gravity parameters specifically designed for marine and saltwater environments, while also covering all freshwater aquarium needs.

How do I switch between measurement modes?

Simply press the MODE/CAL button to cycle through all 10 measurement parameters. Each mode is displayed clearly on the backlit LCD screen alongside a real-time temperature reading.

Does it need calibration before use?

Calibration is recommended for accurate results. The device includes pH buffer powder packets at 4.01, 6.86, and 9.18, as well as an ORP buffer powder, making field calibration quick and straightforward.

Is it safe to submerge in water during testing?

Yes, the SynuDrop is rated IP67 waterproof, meaning the device can be fully submerged during testing without any risk of water damage to the internal components.

What does the TDS reading tell me about my water?

TDS measures total dissolved solids in your water. A reading of 0 to 100 ppm indicates high purity, 100 to 300 ppm is average, 300 to 1000 ppm is low purity, and anything above 1000 ppm may pose a health impact risk.

Can I use it to monitor my hydroponic nutrient solution?

Absolutely. The Fertility mode measures nutrient solution concentration on a scale of 0 to 3, where 1 to 3 is the ideal range for healthy plant growth and above 3 signals that dilution is needed.

What batteries does it use?

The SynuDrop Water Quality Monitor is powered by three 1.5V button batteries housed in the battery compartment at the top of the device.

How do I protect the sensor tip when not in use?

The device comes with a removable electrode protective cover that keeps the multi-electrode tip safe from damage and contamination between testing sessions.
